American Sniper

This time we will take you to a different type of movie and review about the movie “American sniper”, based on a real story of a US Navy SEAL Veteran and sniper named Chris Kyle.

The movie starts with Chris played by Bradley Cooper living in Texas and living the dream by riding bulls and winning rodeos in different state with his Brother Jeff Kyle played by Keir O’Donnell. After a fight with his girlfriend and some bad TV news about explosions on American embassy in Tanzania and Kenya made Chris to take a huge step and join the Navy Seal at the age of 30. After hard training, sniping driving ranges, some drinks at a bar and a couple dates later he manage to make it to the Navy and meet the love of his life. The tours began and Chris becomes the most dangerous American sniper in the middle east protecting troops and trying to survive the war so he can see his wife and baby girl back home.

Originally Chris Kyle was born on April 8th 1974 and died on the 2nd of February 2013. He started by riding bulls and horses in Texas and had earned lots of records until he had a car accident forced him to stop from riding. In February 1999 and in age of 24 he joins the US army and becoming the deadliest sniper with 160 Confirmed kills. Unfortunately Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot and killed at the Rough Creek Ranch-Lodge-Resort shooting range in Erath County by Eddie Ray Routh.

In our opinion the movie managed to present successfully to the audience not only the story of the soldiers that fought in the war, but the agony and the struggle of their families back home. However, from our point of view, the most important achievement was that through the incredibly performance, the actors managed to show the life after the war and the emotional struggle (PTSD) most  people suffer when the return back home. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a mental disorder that can be developed after a person is exposed to a traumatic event such as warfare, sexual assault etc. The fact that they managed to successfully capture and present that specific disorder in the big screen gives to the movie a special bonus. We may not be professional movie reviewers, but we consider Bradley Cooper’s interpretation (and that doesn’t come as a surprise) unique. However, it’s worth to mention the fantastic performance the rest of the cast gave, so we can enjoy this awesome movie..!!
